COME LISTEN TO A FEW OF OUR LOCAL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR 2024!

Karen Rose is a candidate for re-election to the Sarasota School Board.

A member of the Republican Club of Longboat Karen Rose has had the honor of serving children and families for 28 years in Sarasota County Schools as a special education teacher, principal and executive director of middle schools. Karen developed the N. County Gifted Program, a college and career program, and brought the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program to Sarasota. As a trail blazer in science, technology, and math education, she is most proud of her leadership role in our middle schools’ STEMsmart Classrooms.

Karen graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and the University of South Florida with a master’s degree in education and completed a USF program in educational leadership and administration. Karen is married to Dan Miller, and they have one son.

Talha “Tal” Siddique is a candidate for Manatee County Commission Chair in the 2024 Republican Primary for the District 3 Seat.

A member of The Republican Club of Longboat Key, Tal is a servant-leader who has worked in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Air Force. He has successfully built and scaled IT consulting businesses across the globe.

Tal earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational sciences with a minor in Computer Science at The George Washington University. He is married to Kristen Truong, and they reside in Manatee County.

Scott Farrington is a candidate for Supervisor of Elections for Manatee County.

Scott has served 11 years as the number two in the current SOE, Mike Bennett's, office and had previously served as a top official in Sarasota County's SOE office. He is the only certified elections administrator in Manatee County and holds the title of Florida Master Certified Election Professional.  Scott has over 21 years of experience in elections administration This includes over 50 elections including five Presidential and six Gubernatorial Election Cycles, as well as special and municipal elections.

Scott graduated from Community Christian High School in Oneco, FL and earned a bachelor’s in business and a masters in managing information systems at the University of South Florida.  Scott is married to Amy, and they have one son.
